Bahrain hosted the 89th Meeting of the GCC Ministers of Health on 6 September 2026, bringing together health ministers from GCC countries as part of Bahrain’s presidency of the 46th session of the Gulf Cooperation Council.
The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation and integration across Gulf health systems, with emphasis on sustainability, coordination, knowledge exchange, and the ability of healthcare systems to respond to rapidly evolving developments in the health sector.
Among the matters discussed was the strategic performance report on implementation of the Gulf Health Council and Gulf Center for Disease Prevention Strategy 2026–2030, together with initiatives and planning for 2027.
